Alvaro Morata, a former Real Madrid striker, has agreed to an 18-month contract and personal terms with Barcelona, according to reports. The trade is expected to take place in January, assuming Juventus can find a striker to replace him.

Morata joined Juventus on a one-year loan from Atletico Madrid in the summer of 2020, with the option to extend. The loan was extended for another year after he scored 20 goals and assisted 11 in 44 appearances for the Bianconeri previous season. However, he now appears to be on his way to Barcelona from Italy. Morata has only made 23 appearances for Juventus this season, scoring seven goals in the process. If a successor can be found, the club is willing to sell him to Barcelona in January. Mauro Icardi of PSG and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang of Arsenal have been mentioned as possible candidates.

Barcelona's striker woes, on the other hand, are well-known. Due to an awful cardiac ailment, Sergio Aguero had to withdraw from football. Blaugrana were left with very few strikers up front as a result of this. Ferran Torres, formerly of Manchester City, has lately joined Barcelona. They'll be hoping that Torres and Morata, both Spaniards, can make an impact in attack.

Alvaro Morata might become the third player in Real Madrid's history to play for both Atletico Madrid and Barcelona.

Morata is a seasoned veteran of the Spanish league. After joining Real Madrid's B club from Getafe, he spent the majority of his career there. After that, he played for Real Madrid's Castilla before making his first-team debut in 2010.

After spending two years with Juventus from 2014 to 2016, he returned to Real Madrid for a year in 2016. Morata joined Atletico Madrid in 2018 after another two-year stay, this time at Chelsea.

In 2020, he was loaned to Juventus, and now he appears to be on his way to Barcelona. Morata might become only the third player to play for one of Spain's "big three" clubs if he joins Barcelona. On that list, the Spaniard will be joined by Bern Schuster and Miguel Soler.

During his two stints at Real Madrid, Morata scored 31 goals in 95 appearances. In 61 appearances for Atletico, he scored 22 goals. Barcelona will be expecting for similar, if not better, performances from the striker.
